A review and assessment of Copernicus water quality and temperature products in coastal waters: insights from the Adriatic Sea
Copernicus satellite data offers valuable insights into ocean conditions, but challenges remain in accurately representing the complexities of coastal waters. This review assesses the performance of Copernicus water quality and sea surface temperature (SST) products within the Northern Adriatic Sea, utilizing multi-year in-situ measurements. Results indicate high reliability for SST and improved chlorophyll-a accuracy with bias correction. Turbidity products, however, require further refinement.

Population genomics on octocorals in marginal environments: resilient but vulnerable refugia for corals under the Anthropocene
Octocorals, vital habitat formers in marine ecosystems, offer critical insights into species resilience amidst rapid environmental change. This study investigates the population genomics of three octocoral species—*Dendronephthya gigantea*, *D. spinifera*, and *Echinomuricea spinifera*—within the marginal environments of Hong Kong, influenced by freshwater influx. Findings reveal unexpectedly low genetic diversity and limited differentiation, suggesting adaptation to turbid conditions and potential vulnerability.

A decade of coral reef monitoring in Guadeloupe (Lesser Antilles)
Over the past decade, coral reefs surrounding Guadeloupe (Lesser Antilles) have experienced significant ecological decline, exacerbated by mass bleaching, Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease, Diadema die-offs, and cyclones. A comprehensive, ten-year dataset (2014-2024) analyzed physicochemical conditions, benthic composition, and fish populations across 14 reefs. Results demonstrate accelerated coral loss post-2020, primarily linked to elevated turbidity, nutrient enrichment, and chlorophyll—factors driving algal dominance.
