Data analytics turns maritime supply chain data into measured resilience
Data analytics transforms scattered maritime supply chain resources into measured resilience. This study of 214 Chinese bulk commodity importers reveals a clear process: resource acquisition enables bundling, which fuels leveraging, and all three activities strengthen data analytics capability. Analytics capability then drives both robustness and recovery. The findings validate what we have long suspected: coordinated resource management and data-driven decision making are inseparable. East Coast Beaches: Measuring Recreation, Value, and Coastal Economies
118 million trips. 226 million beach days. Those are the numbers that define East Coast beach recreation, and they are not guesses. They come from a comprehensive profile of 275 ocean beaches, built on 2014 household survey data from the 20 nearest states. This paper delivers a consistent, region-wide measure we simply did not have before. The per-trip values, ranging from $59 to $103, confirm what we already suspected: these shores are not just scenic, they are economic engines.
