Restoring clarity and color through fog at coastal ports

Fog doesn't just blur a camera's view; it strips the color and structural clarity from coastal port images. MPD-Net, a dual-candidate restoration network, directly tackles this problem. It sequentially applies a color and luminance hint module, a frequency-aware refinement layer, and a detail-guided feature modulation module. The dual-candidate adaptive fusion module then merges results and corrects color. Tested on 315 paired images, it achieved the best overall PSNR, SSIM, MSE, and LPIPS. This is a measurable step forward for operational visibility.
