adaptive bearing threshold

A new adaptive method sharpens hydrophone accuracy against noise and interference

Direction-finding precision has always been a trade-off between noise tolerance and interference rejection. This new adaptive method, combining Bearing-Inner-Product Accumulation with bearing threshold constraints, directly tackles that weakness. By adaptively selecting the most coherent frequency points and using a signal quality factor to refine the spatial filter, it sustains accuracy even as signal-to-noise ratios shift. Field tests in the South China Sea confirm the improvement: root mean square error dropped to 7.46°, a 56.1% reduction over the Conventional Statistical method.
