Solo travel doesn’t feel the same after this

I’ve done a fair bit of solo travel and always enjoyed it.

On one of my trips, I met someone who was a local from the state I was visiting. We ended up spending a few weeks together in a city. It wasn’t planned, but it changed how that place felt. Slow days, evening walks by the river, cafés, just sharing the experience.

Somewhere along the way, I got attached. I started to feel like she’d be around for a long time (Probably forever). This was very different.

That didn’t happen. We went our separate ways.

Since then, something’s changed. I still like traveling, but doing it alone now feels flat. It’s not the same as before.

I think I got used to experiencing a place with someone. Sharing small moments, having a rhythm, not being alone all the time. Now I can’t seem to switch back to enjoying solo travel the way I used to.
