Visiting Canyons with Type 1 diabetes

Hi everyone, I will be visiting Arizona next month and I’m planning to go to both the Grand Canyon and the Antelope Canyon. I’m Type 1 diabetic, which means I will need to have some kind of sugary food or drink with me at all times, as well as my medication. Looks like both canyons don’t allow food or bags, but does anyone know if they make exceptions for medical reasons? I couldn’t find anything helpful online, and my tour guide basically said I can leave the stuff in the van while we do the tour, but that’s not possible for me as hypos can happen really fast and are potentially lethal.

Anyone Type ones that have been?
