Is there prejudice against Indians?

I started solo traveling about a year ago, I’ve been to multiple countries in Europe, and I’m in Singapore right now. I’ve mostly stayed in hostels with the intention of meeting new people

However, I’ve noticed that my smiles and hellos are not too well received most of the time. I know Indians have the “creepy” reputation online, so I was prepared for some discrimination, but I didn’t think it’d be this bad. Is it a thing or am I overthinking it?
