Why is there so much advanced technology to discover/explore space, but not that much for exploring our oceans
Our take
Despite our remarkable advancements in space exploration technology, the ocean remains largely uncharted. This disparity raises important questions about our priorities and understanding of Earth’s own vast, mysterious depths. While billions of galaxies beckon our curiosity, the ocean harbors secrets crucial to climate regulation, biodiversity, and human survival. The challenges of exploring extreme underwater environments, coupled with limited funding and public interest, have hindered the development of innovative ocean exploration technologies.
We have the tech necessary to see billions of galaxies away, but we can't go in the lowest parts of the ocean. We are obsessed with space, but not as much with the ocean, when it holds so many secrets. Why isn't the technology for exploring the ocean as advanced as the one for exploring space?
