Iran’s IRGC Claims Missile Strike On Israeli-Linked Container Ship In Persian Gulf

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Tuesday, March 31, that it struck an Israeli-linked container ship in the Persian Gulf using ballistic missiles.
The move is part of its ongoing attacks against US and Israeli targets in the region.
In a statement released by its official outlet Sepah News, the IRGC said the ship, named Express Halfong, was targeted earlier in the day by its naval forces.
It described the strike as part of the 88th wave of its drone and missile operations aimed at US bases, assets in West Asia, and Israeli targets.
There is no independent confirmation of the attack or details about the ship’s ownership, damage, or crew condition.
The IRGC also said it carried out several other operations at the same time. It claimed that suicide drones were used to strike what it described as a gathering of US troops along the coast of the United Arab Emirates.
It also said a US Fifth Fleet-linked counter-drone system in Bahrain and two early warning radar systems at Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait were targeted.
Iran stated that its air defence systems shot down an incoming MQ-9 Reaper drone over the central province of Isfahan early on Tuesday. It added that since the start of the conflict, a total of 146 US and Israeli drones have been downed.
The latest attacks come after a major escalation on February 28, when Israel and the United States carried out joint strikes on Tehran and other Iranian cities.
Iran said those strikes killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, along with senior military commanders and civilians.
Following that, Iran launched multiple waves of missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and US military positions across the region.
In its latest statement, the IRGC said it carried out four operations in total, including the strike on the container ship.
It also claimed that its forces have full control over the Strait of Hormuz and warned that any movement by its enemies would be targeted.
